How I manage my blog

Published by admin at 2:05 am under Uncategorized

Just a quick note to explain how I manage this blog.  I try to keep it as up to date as possible on the day to day efforts of our gorilla conservation work.  It’s based on my experiences and those of the rangers who report in from the field every few days.  I write posts whenever important things happen but as I am from a French speaking country, and English is not my mother-tongue, I get some help from friends to translate and post emails that I send them.  Robert Muir and Linda Nunn, especially, work on this blog with me to keep it going.  For me it’s a opportunity to get the message out.  We were completely isolated during the war, and the possibility of using a blog makes a big difference.

I am truly heart-broken to hear of all the turmoil in this area. I wish & pray for help. It’s a tragedy. Thank-You for posting! Keep up the excellent work…the word IS getting out! I check often for updates and appreciate your posts. Please let us know your findings on the gorilla. Can you show a family tree of gorilla families and study counts of other animals which emcompass the park and migrate through. Your work is very honorable and to be commended. Blessings to All envolved!! :o)

Thanks Diane. I’ll try to do that, and give more background. Just about to post some more bad news, I’m afraid.

Paulin, please tell us what we can do to help and if there is anything…money, media…that will help. I am deeply saddened by what I have read on your blog recently.

Dear John, your comment is already a help. For years, the rangers have been struggling on their own. If you can make your friends aware, that would help us. We are running a campaign with the Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Africa Conservation Fund. Volunteers are an enormous help for these kind of campaigns. We can send you details if you want.

it is so sad that this is going on.
we have a president that won’t do a thing to help with money or security.
i wish i could do something to help.

National Transportation Safety Board recently divulged they had funded a project with the US auto makers for the past five years. The NTSB covertly funded a project whereby the auto makers were installing black boxes in four wheel drive pickup trucks in an effort to determine, in fatal accidents, the circumstances in the last 15 seconds before the crash.

They were surprised to find in 49 of the 50 states the last words of drivers in 61.2% of fatal crashes were, “Oh, Shit!”

Only the state of Texas was different, where 89.3% of the final words were, “Hey Y’all, hold my beer and watch this!”
