Congo Rangers will get a new vehicle thanks to your generosity. See how this works in Congo!
Thanks to your generous donations we are in the process of rehabilitating a new vehicle for the Rangers. We purchased this second hand vehicle, and are working on putting in a new engine, a Turbo fuel injector, new front suspension, new tyres… basically a complete overhaul. We order the parts from Rwanda because you cannot find them easily in Goma.
This vehicle will be used solely for Gorilla Protection which means anti-poaching operations, deployment, transporting equipment and sending out rations. A very special thank you to Chris A who made a $12,000 donation which has made this vital acquisition possible and will really help our efforts to protect the Gorillas.
More photos to come as we make progress.

Daily news from the conservation frontline by Innocent and Diddy, and other Congolese rangers risking their lives to save mountain gorillas of the Virunga National Park in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo
That is great news about being able to help the gorillas. Keep up the good work.
I am very happy to see that you found a vehicle to help your efforts. I am happy to help and please thank those wonderful rangers who so unselfishly give their time and risk their life to save these last remaining beautiful creatures. The rangers are truly heroes!!!!!!
Chris - Yes the rangers are heroes, but it’s people such as yourself that help them be heroes with donations. I am thankful to you myself.
I read this post this morning and wondered who *Chris* was that donated to get the used truck. And I wanted to thank him.
So… THANK YOU. And thank you to the rangers who are doing the overhaul!
Tricia - Thank you for the kind words. I feel honored to be able to help in such a great cause and I as well thank the rangers and people like yourself who understand the critical need to protect this park and the wonderful animals. Too all helping to save the animals and the Park — Thank you!!!!
Two things:
1) Chris, you’re a champion. Your donation has really made a difference!
2) Rangers - congratulations! This is really going to help with your efforts and I’m glad that there are people like Chris out there.
Thank you Kimberly - it is nice to know that there are good people like yourself and Tricia out there who follow this story and really care! I hope the rangers know we all support them!!!!
Paulin, this is wonderful news! I am absolutely thrilled with ALL of the recent good news! Bless you and your rangers. Please pass along to them how grateful and excited we are for them.
Chris, your kindness and the kindness of all those who are able to make donations to this cause are heartwarming to say the least. You obviously are a very warm and caring person. Thank you!
Firstly Chris, to echo the comments thus made: thankyou for this donation made - many of us would wish to do the same if we had the finances; you are obviously in a position to do so and what a fine gesture sir. I’d like to know how you became involved, one can contact me through my website - http://www.safaritalk.net. There need to be more people like you…
Second to Paulin and the rangers - as a Land Rover driver myself you should have yourself a sturdy vehicle for many years to come and I look forward to seeing how it progresses: I’m sure yours will have a harder life than mine.
Matt
To Mary and The Game Warden: thank you for your kind words. To respond to the comment about finances, you are partially correct… I don’t have much money but I am giving away everything I have because I have entered the Seminary to become a priest. Thus, poverty is one of my vows. I have a strong desire to donate all of my money to wonderful causes trying to save tigers, rhinos, gorillas and the Chinese bears who are being tortured on farms in China milking them for bile. So, whatever way it happens, it is good for the animals! Paulin, I will get you the donation for the new laptops next week. Thank you to all protecting these animals!
Matt- how can I reach you? There is no email on your website.
Matt, thanks for posting the link to your website also. I have signed on.
Chris,
Best wishes to you on joining the seminary! God is working through you in wonderful ways. Much happiness always!
Hello there Chris,
Feel free to email me at liz.matt@netcabo.pt, likewise should anyone else wish to contact me I look forward to hearing from you.
And Chris, I wish you all the best with your new life; recently to some extent I have changed the focus of my life and I’m excited by the prospect of where it’s taking me.
Paulin, sorry to hijack your blog here, I’d love to hear from some of you in the Congo should you get chance to email me.
Matthew
That is amazing to see! I think that is one of the nicest things I’ve ever seen someone do for others. I’m sure the Rover will make the Rangers lives alot easier. I only hope to be able to do something that generous someday. Paulin you have a beutiful family, Its good to see that things are looking up. Take care
Thank you for all your comments.. i will keep you posted on how the work is going with the vehicle and how much of a difference it is going to make to our work. Very best, Paulin.
