Ndakasi recovering from pneumonia, but may have lung damage

I have just heard that Ndakasi is recovering from the acute pneumonia that started last week. Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project vets have been working round the clock with the MONUC doctors and O2 therapy and she appears to be getting better. The vets are not sure how much lung damage has occurred but feel more comfortable about her future than they did last week.

    Thank you for the news. I can only imagine how hard everyone has been working. Ndakasi has many people thinking positive thoughts for her.

    Awwwww…doing better THAT is SUPER news!!! Such a great update on the baby. Will or would she ever be intregrated back into the wilds???? Probably not..wishful thinking eh. Well itty bitty is doing well and that is what matters most. Poachers lose again. Steph

    I am so relieved you posted good news — I have checked daily — hope we get a picture soon and he/she is as playful as can be — hope it is quiet for a while so you can do your work safely — I pray for that. Wanda
